The Heartbeat Island Event is well underway. What can adventurers expect from this Summer Festival?
Arkesia is never short on events and content that players can experience. At the same time, they can take a break from searching for the Lost Ark. Summer is now underway, and adventurers are celebrating a new festival. Feel the heat with the latest Heartbeat Island Event. Players can earn tons of rewards and Honing Materials for their Lost Ark accounts by participating.
What is the Heartbeat Island Event?
After the Wrath of the Covetous Legion Update, the Heartbeat Island Festival was introduced as the replacement for the Golden Wave Island event. Like the previous festival, Heartbeat Island provides various activities that allow players to earn many rewards without spending any Lost Ark gold.
Doing activities and dailies for the event will provide a unique currency token for adventurers called Festival Coin. These tokens can be exchanged with a certain NPC within the island, which can also be in major cities. Farming this currency can help players with their character progressions due to the number of materials they can be exchanged with.
Unlike the previous event, Heartbeat Island activities are less active. Several daily missions in the isle require players to stand in certain zones doing nothing. However, knowing which quests require adventurers to AFK or actively do something can help reduce the number of time gamers spend on the island.
How to Unlock Heartbeat Island?
Though the isle can be found near the Anikka Port, players won’t be able to access the event until they satisfy specific requirements. Unfortunately, newer players might have trouble completing these conditions. Here are all the criteria to enable participation in Heartbeat Island:
- Reach level 50 with the character being used
- Achieve an Item Level of 250
- Optional: Unlock the Sway or Dance of Umarka Emote
Aside from satisfying these conditions, players should also unlock the island by discovering the island itself. Players will find an NPC named Jollous in the center of the major cities in Arkesia. Upon interacting with him, adventurers will be directed to the location of Heartbeat Island. While the option to fast travel to the area exists, sailing to the island using the Ocean Liner will not be available until gamers unlock the island. Here is the opening task for the event:
[Event] Beginning of Summer accepted from Jollous
- Objective: Read the Invitation from Jollous, Talk to Jollous, and Go to Heartbeat Island
- Reward: 50 Festival Coin
The area is located southwest of Anikka’sChangsung Port. Upon entering the isle, players must complete a series of quests. The NPC Jollus can be found near the bar, providing gamers with the “[Event] Hotter and Hotter” questline to unlock the whole event. Here are all the conditions for completing each task:
- Play Song of Valor for Jollous
- Perform the Dance, Sway, or Umarka Emote
- Do the Cheer Emote for Jollous
Once all these actions have been done, adventurers will now have access to the dailies and island events of the festival. These quests will also provide gamers with 50 Festival Tokens.
Summer Festival Event Coin Rewards
The most consistent way to earn Festival Coins is to participate in the various activities on the island. Some of these events are scheduled, while others can be done only once daily. Here is how many event tokens adventurers can acquire for each activity:
- All the Daily Quests – 300 coins Per Day
- Dance Co-op Quest – around 100 tokens per hour
- Boss Fight Co-op – about 400+ coins per hour
As indicated, daily activities can only be done once a day. Meanwhile, the two co-op island events can be done every hour.
Summer Festival Daily Quest
Unlike the previous event, the Summer Event has multiple daily quests that players can partake in. These tasks will reward adventurers with tons of island tokens. Here are all the day-to-day tasks that gamers can engage in:
A Song for You accepted from NPC Morris
- Objective: Relax and Watch in a specific area and Interact with several objects
- Reward: 100 Festival Coins
Don’t You Worry accepted from NPC Morris
- Objective: AFK Rest and Sunbathe in a specific location and interact with particular objects
- Reward: 100 Festival Coins
Tranquil as the Sea accepted from NPC Morris
- Objective: Watch the relaxing waves while resting, then interact with certain items
- Reward: 100 Festival Coins
Adventurers may find these activities tedious due to the time these tasks take. In addition, these missions require gamers to stand idle in certain areas. However, doing all these quests will yield players 300 Festival Coins, a substantial amount of this currency.
Summer Event Island Co-op Quests
Aside from the Daily Tasks, players can also engage in several group Island Event content during the festival. There are precisely two group activities that occur every 60 minutes. The first one is every 50th minute of the hour, and the second one is every start of the hour. Here are all the available co-op tasks on Heartbeat Island:
Dance Co-Op
The first event that will always occur among the two tasks is the Dance Co-op Event. This is a dance emote activity, so gamers will need both the Dance and Umarka actions to participate. The objective of this quest is to have adventurers dance both emotes 20 times each for a total of 40 activities. This is a straightforward task since these emotes loop, so gamers don’t need to activate them repeatedly.
There are no tricks for this task since players just need to go to a designated area and dance. Adventurers can leave and AFK until their characters reach the target number of actions per dance. The whole mission can take up to around two minutes as long as a sufficient number of participants. The reward for completing this task is 100 Summer Festival Coins with a minimum participation prize of Silver.
Glowstick Boss Co-op
The second co-op event occurs at every start of the hour. This quest is a unique “Boss” fight, where players fight the boss with a glowstick item. These special event weapons can be found on the right and left sides of the dance floor “arena.” The boss will drop 4-8 Summer Festival Coins every time it loses a certain amount of health, which appears to activate every 100 HP.
Since the boss has around 4,000 health, players can gain around 250 Festival Coins every engagement. Two bosses can be fought every instance, but adventurers need to have a sufficient group size to defeat both in time. In total, gamers can obtain up to 500 Summer Festival tokens.
The gimmick of this event requires players to use Glowsticks, which will be the main offensive item for this co-op activity. While the weapon only has one vicious attack, there are two support abilities that adventurers can use during the fight. The first one allows players to recover HP depending on damage dealt. The second provides bonus attack speed and movement speed.
Compared to the boss of the previous event, the Summer Festival elite mob can deal knockdown damage, and their damage scales with the adventurers’ max HP. Aside from these, the boss has attacks that can deal from 20% to 90% damage. The current events’ boss presents a challenge to gamers that weren’t present in previous event mobs. That is why stats such as Swiftness and Movement Speed can be beneficial during these encounters.
Players should note that the Festival Coin drops depending on HP’s loss of the boss. There is no completionist or participation reward for this fight. Adventurers should attack the target as much as possible to get the most out of the event.
Festival Coin Exchange
As adventurers collect more Summer Festival Tokens, they would be looking to spend these coins. Fortunately, the Summer Festival Exchange NPC provides many excellent player options. Here are all the items that gamers can redeem with their Festival Tokens:
