The new digital projection system at Emagine Novi:
Emagine Novi has introduced a new digital projection system that will allow the theater to screen movies in high definition.
The system will replace the current film projection system, which was installed in 2002. The change is anticipated to take place in early 2020. The new system will offer both 2K and 4K resolution, which means that viewers will be able to see clearer images on the screen.
The company also plans to invest $4 million in new seats for its theaters by 2021. This investment comes as Emagine Novi expands its footprint in the Detroit area with new theaters opening at Southfield Town Center and other locations across Michigan.
The Blues Brothers and The Dark Knight Rises
The Blues Brothers and The Dark Knight Rises are two incredibly popular films that share a lot in common. Both were released in the 1980s, and both have been remade for more modern audiences. Both films also star actors who have become iconic for their roles as leading men in Hollywood.
Both films are musicals. In The Blues Brothers, Jake Blues (John Belushi), Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd), and their band of brothers perform several songs during their adventures to save the orphanage where they grew up from foreclosure. In The Dark Knight Rises, Batman (Christian Bale) and Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) sing “Cat Scratch Fever” together in order to distract police officers while they break into a museum to steal precious artworks.
Another similarity between these two films is that they both feature villains who have been locked away for decades: Darth Vader in Star Wars and Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Both villains escape from prison at the beginning of their respective movies, but only one manages to get out permanently—Bane escapes from Blackgate Prison after being incarcerated for eight years; Vader returns to life after being trapped in a suit of armor for years thanks to Darth.

The drive-in movie theater has been in operation for over 50 years and is one of only two remaining drive-in theaters in the state of Michigan. It’s also the only outdoor theater in metro Detroit that shows first-run movies.
Emagine Novi MegaSports Drive-In Theater features a 42-foot screen with Dolby Stereo Surround sound, as well as high definition digital projection. The concession stand offers classic movie treats like burgers and fries, but they also have more upscale options like sushi rolls and gourmet pizza slices.
The drive-in has been under new ownership since 2015 when owner Dennis Malick brought his vision for a modernized experience to life. He added new screens and upgraded the projectors so that guests can watch movies on a larger screen without losing any quality picture or sound quality.
